I have found an amazing technology that I am considering purchasing that disables cell phones from texting while you are driving. Texting while driving is now more dangerous than drinking and driving for teens.Parents can use this software to protect their teens when they are driving without you in the car.
It also protects against sexting and cyber bullying. I am interested in comparison shopping this type of technology. If anyone knows about stuff like this I would think it would be concerned…

We can all give in little ways that make a huge difference. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t want their children to be kind and generous people who grow up with a desire to make contributions. There is no question that the best way to teach kids is through role modeling. At Mabel’s Labels we wanted our work lives to reflect that value, so over a year ago we started a Community Relations Committee. We recently had a look at what we have accomplished and it left us with a decent case of the warm fu…

There are many things that I am faced with on a daily basis. For a long time I would hold grudges and not really talk about my feelings.I have so much to say and I just want to start by saying I give thanks to GOD for everything that I went through and being able to overcome it. I still go through a lot and I just try to look as though it will get better. I just want to find other women/moms who are going through things and may not have anyone to talk to or feel that they can't say what they rea…

Failure does not breed success when it comes to the brain, according to MIT scientist Earl Miller whose study of monkeys is cited in the
Boston Globe article of August 3, “Why success may breed success.” When a correct response is rewarded, higher-intensity signals fire between the two learning areas of the brain. This increases the odds that the next answer will be correc…

And when you pray do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words, Matthew 6:7...but the theatrical production is unnecessary and completely absurd...you don't have to be a prayer warrior to be heard.
Just find a quiet place and abide…

My latest
blog entry
Okay, so I’ve gotten to that point in my mompreneur career where my family is telling me that I’m spending too much time working. My husband actually had to semi ban me from the computer all weekend. I had to sneak on here while he was in the shower. It’s hard to explain to someone that my kind of job requires all different hours, especially when it’s so hard to work during the day when I am all alone with…

I was speaking to Loraine, another mum of my vintage today, who has also raised 4 children (now young adults).
We spoke about how we would start our baby's off on very small amounts of a variety of foods at a young age and we didn't have near the amount of food allergies as there is today. Over the last 6 years there has been a 500% increase in food related allergies. What is going wrong?
There are many contributing thoughts and much research to back up why.
1. Holding off introducing foods f…

Experts widely agree that financial stress—whether it is less holiday giving or a layoff—can negatively affect both marriages and children. In these times, thoughtful, caring parents need to ask, “How can doing with less strengthen, instead of harm, our child’s sense of security?”

I have been single parenting now for about 10 years and I want to share some of the highs and lows with you. My family are the most important thing in my life, and I am a real home bird. I would also consider myself very ambitious and a career woman, so for many years I have been pulled in lots of directions trying to get the best of both worlds. My career has centered around empowering others and I have given it my everything, and sometimes there was not much of me left at the end of the day. I…
